What light is filtered out by the IR filter?

1) Made of colored glass, usually black. It absorbs visible light and allows transmission of infrared light. If you look at the sun through this infrared filter, you can still see a reddish sun.
(2) Infrared filters are made by vacuum coating on optical white glass, such as IPGC-720, this type is also called an optical cooled mirror, which reflects the visible outside and allows visible light to pass through. The appearance looks silver, like a mirror. If it is a medium and far infrared filter, it should be coated on Si, Sapphire, quartz glass.3) Infrared plastic filter made of special plastic, black in appearance, if you look at the sun through this infrared filter, you can also see a red sun. This plastic material can be PC or PMMA.
